What does a community club do? |
 |
 |
A community club offers a range of courses, activities and interest groups for residents to participate. It is a common hub for people to come together, take ownership, and do their part to contribute to the community's well-being.
A community club also allows booking of facilities such as a mini-theatre, multi-purpose hall, classrooms, etc.
It is mainly made up of Grassroots Organisations (GROs)2 who took up the responsibility to serve their residents. They connect the people and the government for consultation and feedback. These relationships promote racial harmony and social cohesion, and ensure a united and resilient Singapore.
1GRLs - a GRL is a volunteer who becomes a committee member of a GRO
2GROs - a GRO consists of a group of committee members http://www.pa.gov.sg/1148093110402/1148970724032.html |
